Mr.Shailendra Madarie
Shailendra Madarie is a talented tabla player who started his initial tabla education at a very early age of 9 at the Indian Cultural Centre Paramaribo from
Shri Govind Chakraborty, Shri Mahesh Dalvi, Shri Debu Chakraborty and Shri Hari Mohan Sharma. Shailendra was fortunate to get guidance also
from other maestros such as Pandit Swapan Chaudhari, Shri Pooran Maharaj, Shri Ram Mohan Mishra. Sailendra 's style, is based on fifteen years of intense training under the expert guidance of his Guruji's from diffent Gharana's such as Benaras and Ajrara gharana.
He gave his first Tabla solo performance at the age of 10. He has given many public performances (solo as well as accompaniment) at various Music Festivals en Concerts in different parts of Suriname and on many television channels as well. He Also performerd several times abroad in countries like, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, French Guyana, California USA, Barbados, St.Kitss and Nevis, Holland, and Jamaica.
He is now tabla teacher at the Indian Cultural Centre Paramaribo where he teached more then 300 students and still teaching to new students.
